DIY of the Day: Framing pictures is for olds. All the cool kids are copying their pictures directly onto blocks of wood.

Crystal Shea says:

Make sure to use copy paper and a laser print copy- it works best this way. Also, to those who are having issues getting all the paper residue off, here’s a tip: get as much paper as you can off, then wet the image with water again so the paper is no longer visible, then apply the mod podge before it’s dry. I found this helps for me.

[hyst.]

I want to do this. Now someone explain what is Mod Podge and what is Gel Medium. And where can I get a block of wood.

Assuming the gel is applied first so that the ink gets caught in it and can’t get rubbed off with the paper. The Mod Podge helps hold the ink/gel in place so it can’t come off of the block of wood as easily.

And if you know anyone with a log cabin who doesn’t go there very often, it’s totally possible to steal part of their front porch.

Also I like this song.

Excellent craft plan!
